"Pain is temporary. It may last for a minute, or an hour or a day, or even a year. But eventually, it will subside. And something else take its place. If I quit, however, it will last forever."

- Eric Thomas

Talofa! My name is Tiu Ramsey Fruean, son of Tiu Vailoa and Ann Fruean. This is my first year being a part of the cross cultural leadership program (CCLP) and I am excited to be a part of this amazing team. I joined the CCLP because of my love for culture and how leadership ties in with how other cultures function in today’s society. I am a first generation student who has transferred to CWU my junior year after completing my AA at Pierce College.  I' majoring in social services with a minor in ethnic studies.  After I graduate I hope to be a counselor for a high school and help young men and women that want to go to college. Before any of that I am planning to get my master’s degree and maybe even my PhD one day. I am an active member of PolyCentral, TRIO, and Brother 2 Brother. These groups are an incredible part of Central, and are open to anyone that is interested in joining both. TRIO and Brother 2 Brother have definitely shaped and defined the man I am today.  I also have been working for the best office on campus, which is the Center for Leadership and Community Engagement (CLCE), and it has been one of the greatest jobs I have ever had. I have learned several of skills through the CLCE that I hope one day that I can give back to someone.  I am always willing to have a conversation or a laugh. I can't wait to learn more things about different cultures this year! #StriveForGreatness
