"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts."

- Winston Churchill

My name is Aubrey Arce. I was born and raised in Bremerton, Washington. I graduated from Olympic High school, and then attended Olympic College on a Cross Country and Track & Field Scholarship. I came here as a transfer student, and now it is my Senior Year. I am in the Exercise Science Program here at Central and plan to graduate Summer 2019. Once I finish my Bachelor Degree in Science, I hope to become a Cardiac Rehabilitation Therapist. What drove me towards this career path was my love for helping those in need. It was when my uncle who was like a father to me had to have heart surgery. He ended up getting bypass surgery and was placed in the intensive care unit for several days. I visited my uncle every day and the Cardiac Rehab Therapist continued to update me on his condition. It was the compassion and encouragement that she showed my uncle during his recovery in the ICU that inspired me to look into this profession. This is when I noticed that I could make a difference in a patient’s life without being a nurse. Until then, I work in the Office of Student Involvement with Brandon Wear-Grimm who is also in the CCLP cohort. Outside of school and work, I enjoy watching This Is Us, Grey’s Anatomy, Marvel movies, and taking naps. My favorite food is potatoes:  french fries, tater tots, mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, etc... In any shape, way, or form--I will eat it. My hobbies include snuggling up with a good book, hanging out with friends, and playing volleyball.
