Maurice Watkins

My name is Maurice Watkins III, pronouns He/Him/His or my name and I am a Junior at Central Washington University. I am a psychology major with aspirations of becoming a psychologist and motivational speaker.

I am currently the Vice-President for Equity & Community Affairs, and the chairman of the Equity & Services Council where I get the blessing of overseeing 8 organizations, each of which represents a different marginalized group. One of the ESC's overall missions is to uphold appreciation and understanding for diverse social and cultural heritages, so I try my best everyday to carry myself in a way that shows I am cognizant of that.

Being that I am part of a marginalized group, I find representation very essential when forming that connection with members of surrounding communities. I am more than passionate about what I do and I aim to serve as an additional resource to all marginalized students and faculty.

In addition, this has helped me learn so much about the differing cultures that surround me and I only wish to continue broadening my cultural lens.
